PDO Thread Lift

The Non-Surgical Facelift

PDO thread lifts are the ideal non-surgical alternatives to traditional facelifts. If you want the natural and youthful lift of youth, defined cheekbones, and taut skin without surgeries, incisions, or scalpels, then a PDO thread lift is the ideal procedure for you. PDO thread lifts involve using dissolvable and biocompatible sutures to lift your skinโ€™s surface without surgeries or downtime. Revitalize! CNY uses the most effective and biocompatible FDA approved threads to ensure optimal recovery.

What is a PDO Thread Lift?

PDO thread lift is a non-surgical procedure that involves the strategic placement of non-toxic, biocompatible, and absorbable sutures to give a gentle lift to your skinโ€™s surface. Itโ€™s often called a โ€œnon-surgical faceliftโ€ because it produces similar results as a facelift, but without incisions or scalpels. PDO threads are made of polydioxanone, an absorbable, flexible, and durable component commonly used for cardiothoracic surgery. Besides giving your face an immediate lift, they also boost your skinโ€™s collagen production capacities, increasing your skinโ€™s youthful firmness.

PDO threads are completely biocompatible and absorbable, so they dissolve within the human body in 4 to 6 months. However, they produce sufficient collagen fibers in that period to ensure your face continues looking firm and taut. The collagen plumps your skin, reduces wrinkles, and smoothens other textural irregularities. Since there arenโ€™t any incisions or surgeries, you donโ€™t have to worry about scars or downtime. The results from a PDO thread lift last for up to 2 years before needing touch ups.

What Are the Benefits of a PDO Thread Lift?

  • Non-surgical alternative to a facelift
  • Minimal to no pain and discomfort
  • Minimal downtime
  • Reduced wrinkles and fine lines
  • Tightened skin tissues
  • Immediate onset of results
  • Long-lasting results
  • Natural-looking results
  • Completely safe

What Does a PDO Thread Lift Treat?

PDO thread lifts primarily treat issues that arise due to age and the gradual loss of collagen and elastin from your skinโ€™s surface. As you grow older, the lack of collagen and elastin in your skin makes your skin tissues droop downwards instead of staying upright. A PDO thread lift gives your skin the structural support it needs to stay upright, firm, and taut. Furthermore, collagen production reduces the wrinkles and smoothens the skinโ€™s surface. PDO thread lifts generally treat sagging skin and laxity for the mid face, neck and jowls and volume loss of the nasolabial folds, marionettes and cheek as well as improving skin texture, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Who Are the Ideal Candidates for a PDO Thread Lift?

Youโ€™re the ideal candidate for a PDO thread lift if you want the benefits of a facelift without the scalpels, incisions, scars, and downtime. You should consider a PDO thread lift if youโ€™re unhappy with your sagging skin, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. Generally speaking, PDO thread lifts arenโ€™t suitable for patients. Our skincare experts will examine your skin quality and medical history to determine if youโ€™re a viable candidate for PDO thread lifts.

What Can I Expect From My PDO Thread Lift Treatment?

During the PDO thread lift, your provider will cleanse your skin thoroughly and mark the insertion points on your skin to guide the treatment. They will deliver local anesthesia to ensure that youโ€™re comfortable and feel no pain during the insertion. Sheโ€™ll guide the threads or sutures into your skinโ€™s surface with a long, tube-like cannula. As the threads reach the final point, they will be extracted with the cannula to give your skin a lift. The process is repeated until all the necessary threads have been placed in the chosen locations. The number of threads places depends on the treatment area or areas and quality of your skin.

Most people experience some swelling and discomfort after the treatment for a few days. While you can resume most of your daily activities within 24 hours, youโ€™ll need to sleep face-up for a few weeks and will be asked to avoid strenuous workouts for a few weeks and to follow all post-care guidelines to ensure a smooth recovery journey. The PDO thread lift results last for 1 to 3 years.

Smooth Threads

Smooth threads are composed of Polydiaxone (PDO), which is a complex sugar-based protein that absorbs into the skin over several months. This gradual breakdown of the thread promotes collagen production, eliminating fine lines, improving skin elasticity, overall skin quality, skin texture, and tightness. Smooth threads can be used on the face, submentum, under-eye region, neck, chest, abdomen, and other areas of the body where you want to smooth and tighten the skin.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

Prior to your procedure, we discuss your desired outcome and what treatments will be best suited to help you achieve it. We then apply a topical Lidocaine and prep your skin for the procedure. The procedure can take 15-45 minutes, depending on the number of treatment areas and amount of threads that are placed. After your treatment, you may have some mild redness or bruising, which typically resolves in a few days.

Results

Since this procedure relies on collagen and elastin production by your body, your results will continue to improve over the next several months. Smooth threads are often a multi-step process requiring 1-5 treatments. To boost your results, smooth threads can also be used in conjunction with dermal fillers, neuromodulators such as Botox or Dysport, and/or microneedling.
